Following a rousing Coachella performance and US shows with St Vincent, Keep Shelly In Athens are about to embark on their first extensive UK/EU tour this week. Starting in Paris tomorrow (3rd May), the enigmatic Grecian electronic duo headline new London venue Birthdays on the 7th May as well as appearing at Camden Crawl, Sounds From The Other City and The Great Escape festivals before heading off to Scandinavia and beyond.

As previously announced KSiA are re-releasing their first two Forest Family EPs, ‘In Love With Dusk’ and ‘Our Own Dream’ as one release digitally as well as on vinyl. The double EP will be also available at the European shows as packaged by Plancha, with an exclusive new remix and original track ‘A Tear in My I’ and ‘Hauntin’ Me’ (on the CD version).

The Grecian downbeat-pop duo meander through their electronic salad days and R&B beats of yesteryear. Melding an Ibizan ethic with atmospheric synthesizing, KSiA continues to push the convention of electronic music to the brink, a challenge to the Balearic norm.

Introducing: Soko

UFA is proud to announce the newest addition to our roster, but certainly not new to the world of music (and film): Soko. The nomadically based french singer-songwriter is most known for her heartfelt and quirky lyrical-based songs full of tears, joy, resentment, love, confusion, jealousy, and a celebration of life battling death. She most recently released the long-aniticipated LP, ‘ I Thought I Was An Alien ‘, a beautifully evolved full-length in Europe (Because), sold out her follow up tour, and is now running back to what’s become her second home, Los Angeles, to jump back into the studio before festivaling around the summer of 2012 with her live band. With a full schedule ahead mixing her film and music careers, and an ongoing obsession with collecting the most creative people, sounds, and projects for collaborations along the way, we know the exciting future for Soko is most promising.

Annie har en lang og omfattende karriere bak seg som solo-artist, låtskriver, remixer og DJ.
Allerede som 17-åring debuterte Annie som DJ, og utover 2000-tallet utgav hun to album, en drøss med singler og mange remixer. Annie har vunnet Spellemann, toppet Pitchforks årsbeste-oppsummeringer og vært på forsiden av internasjonale mote og musikk-magasiner.
De siste to årene har hun jobbet med eget nytt materiale samt jobbet med co-writing sammen med Xenomenia (Kylie Minogue, Sugababes, Pet Shop Boys, Saint Etienne ++), Richard X (M.I.A., Goldfrapp, Human League) m.fl.
Annie bor og jobber i Berlin.

Keep Shelly In Athens has unveiled the new video for ‘Our Own Dream’ alongside plans to re-release their first two Forest Family EPs and news of a May UK/EU tour (full details below). The EPs ‘In Love With Dusk’ and ‘Our Own Dream’ are available now digitally as one package in the UK and US here with a vinyl release to follow in April. The EP will also include an extra surprise in form of an additional as yet unnamed track.

Lindstrøm is announcing select North American tour dates this spring, including a stop at Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival, in support of his new full-length album, Six Cups of Rebel (released February 7, 2012 via Smalltown Supersound).

Last time we heard from Lindstrøm, he was being remixed by THE Todd Rundgren for an 12” of album track “Quiet Place to Live.” More remixes for digital and vinyl release are forthcoming from such notables as Owen Pallet, Oneohtrix Point Never and Rub N Thug.

Bendik er et ung trio som har imponerte oss stort på by:Larm. De har gjort det skarpt i Urørt (Gjorde en striking fremføring i Urørtfinalen tidligere i år) og bandet har så langt gitt ut en EP og 7″ + vært listet på P3, spilt på Øya og Slottsfjell. De gir ut sitt debut album 5. Oktober.

Keep Shelly in Athens came to surface through catching the attention of bloggers Transparent Records and Gorilla Vs Bear. Over the last year and a half, with two additional sold-out EPs after their successful debut, In Love With Dusk, they’ve now transformed their live show into a full four-piece outfit including drums and guitar. Their airy beats of down-tempo electronica now translate live in an even more epic and eerie showcase, catching the attention of promoters across the board and landing them a slot in 2012′s Coachella. Though they’re based from a small scene in Athens, Greece, they’ve had no problem causing a stir internationally. 2012 brings even more plans to tour the US, Europe, and beyond–with recording time in between to present their next surprise…and we only see them continuing to grow.

We are happy to welcome a new manager to our team, New York based Heather MacIntyre. Besides being a manager, Heather is also the co-owner and label manager of Forest Family Records (Other owners are influential US blogs The Weekly Tape Deck and Gorilla Vs Bear). Heather has also worked as a marketing director at Beggars Group US (Working very closely with amongst others Vampire Weekend), worked in US college radio, and has experience from both the US and UK with booking and promotion. Heather is currently the international manager for the Greek duo, Keep Shelly in Athens, but will be looking for additional acts to work with.
